Hilton Head Island truly is a place that is like no other! The second largest island on America’s East Coast, Hilton Head is shaped like a twelve-mile-long boot. To the east, it is bordered by twelve miles of broad beach and the Atlantic Ocean. To the west, it is bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway. In between, it may have the best combination of places to stay, golf courses, racquet clubs, restaurants, shopping, and amenities of all sorts that one can find anywhere! Hilton Head Island boasts 25 challenging golf courses, including several generally considered to be among the best in the world, Additional courses are located in the nearby Low Country. Green fees and cart rental usually range from $45 to over $100, and may vary with the time of day and the season. Golf books with some discount coupons are available at the convention center located at the entrance to the resort. Look for golf specials in the local newspaper too. There are over 200 restaurants on the island from the familiar fast food to the 5-star gourmet experience and encompass nearly every imaginable style cuisine. The dress code for most restaurants is casual, but there are a few that require jackets. A restaurant guide book is available at the convention center, it lists menus, prices, specials, and offers some coupons: the online version. |
